                                     Gaudeamus Choir in Concert
St Werburghs Church Friday June 1st 7.30pm

Gaudeamus is a chamber choir from Leigh on Sea, Essex and we specialise in singing a range of music, from Classical part songs, anthems and madrigals to folk song and jazz arrangements: something for everyone.   Our concert tonight will be a selection of music in a range of styles, including composers such as Elgar, Purcell, Eric Whitacre, barber shop and a rousing finale of operatic tunes.

Over the years we have made many enjoyable concert tours to foreign cities, including Rome, where we sang at Mass in St Peters Basilica, and most recently to Paris, where we gave concerts in Notre Dame Cathedral and at Chartres.   This is our first UK tour, we are also singing in Exeter Cathedral and in Totnes.

Tickets £10 from 862133 or on the door. All proceeds to St Werburghs Church and Plymouth Music Accord

"The Choir has a crisp decisive diction, produced a range of vocal colour, and their faithful attention to dynamic makings were impressive. You would need to go quite long way to hear a finer a capella choir"

CONCERTS AT ST WERBURGH?S Martin Dale (clarinet and saxophone) and Gavin Martin (keyboard)  Friday, February 24th at 7.30
In March last year, alto and tenor sax player Martin Dale came to Wembury to play jazz. The big local audience was delighted with his versatile playing and the easy charm of his presentation.
Plymouth Music Accord is pleased to bring him back for a return visit ? this time playing clarinet in a programme devoted to the lighter classical repertoire. His pianist once again will be the very talented Gavin Martin who is equally at home in the classical field.
Hearing that Martin Dale was due to return, some who were present last year asked for some jazz as well so he will play both clarinet and sax.
One item has a special local connection ? Cologne, a recently published jazz-based composition is by Wembury resident Clive Jenkins.
Tickets are £10 available from Wembury Post Office, Pam Pinder 01752 863304 or Carol Steel 01752 862602.  Profits will go towards Plymouth Music Accord?s work in education.
